Commonwealth Games 2010: Indian Women Athlete Rani flunks dope test
dope-testAn Indian Women Athlete Rani Yadav flunked the dope test today. Rani had competed in the the 20 kms Women Walk and finished sixth in the event final held on the 9th of this month .

Gagan Narang wins gold, Bindra silver in 10 m air rifle
Gagan-NarangOn the third day of the commonwealth games, ace rifle shooter Gagan Narang piped compatriot Abhinav Bindra to clinch the Gold in the men’s 10m individual air rifle event at the Dr Karni Singh Range in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Olympic champion Bindra had to be content with a silver while this was Gagan’s second and India’s third Gold in the shooting competition of the 19th Commonwealth Games.

Earlier in the day, Gagan shot a perfect 600 to equal his own world record in men’s 10m individual air rifle qualification.

Commonwealth Games Shooting: Bindra, Gagan set to lead India’s fortunes in range
Abhinav-BindraBeijing Olympic Games gold medallist Abhinav Bindra and world record holder Gagan Narang will vye for medals as the Indian shooting squad campaign kicks off tomorrow.

The duo will represent the hosts in the 10m air rifle event, before world champion Tejeswani Sawant, who had won two gold medals in air rifle in the previous edition in Melbourne, and Lajja Goswami take a shot at glory in the 50m 3 position event later in the day.

Intl players, delegates continue to arrive at Delhi for CWG
commonwealth-games-logoThe another batches of nine more teams including Athletes and delegates have reached in New Delhi to participate in the Commonwealth games. 1100 athletes and delegates have already checked in games village.

The first batch of athletes from Scotland has also arrived. 280 athletes from the country will be arriving in batches. A 15 members from 203 member team of Malayasia has also checked in the Games village.
