Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi witnessing a massive rush of pilgrims
Holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is witnessing a massive rush of pilgrims during winter vacations prompting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) to briefly halt the pilgrimage on Sunday night to ease the rush.
Pilgrimage to the holy shrine has crossed 85 lakhs this year, so far with five days to spare. Going by the heavy rush in the last five days of the year, the authorities anticipated that the yatra this year could be around 87 lakhs.
Police authorities have made elaborate security arrangements for the pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan on the eve of New Year.
