Nepal restarts process to form GovtNepal's Parliament
In Nepal, a day after a failed attempt to elect a new Prime Minister, the Unified CPN (Maoist) today decided to initiate a fresh move to form a united Government under its leadership, saying there was no alternative to consensus.

This was decided at the meeting of party office bearers held in Kathmandu today.

Briefing newsmen after the meeting, Maoist Vice President Narayankaji Shrestha said the meeting decided to hold intensive discussions with other political parties to end the prevailing political uncertainty and form a national unity government under the Maoist leadership, being the largest party in the constituent assembly.

The fourth round of Prime Ministerial election held yesterday failed to elect a new Prime Minister as both the contesting candidates – Unified CPN(Maoist) Chairman Prachanda and Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel could not get the required simple majority after CPN(UML) and four Tarai based parties abstained from voting.

The fifth round of polling to elect a new Prime Minister is scheduled to be held on 18th of this month.
