National disaster management guidelines on ‘Incident Response System’ released

The government has released the National Disaster Management Guidelines on Incident Response System.

Releasing the guidelines in New Delhi on Wednesday, Home Minister, Mr P Chidambaram said these will go a long way to streamline the disaster response mechanism throughout the Country. He said the government has already put in place a mechanism to bring about a paradigm shift in the management of disasters by developing a holistic, proactive and technology driven strategy under the existing act.

The Guidelines on the Incident Response System cover important aspects like Systematic Planning Process, Effective resource management, Integration of the community response efforts and Effective coordination of the employment of independent agencies into the command and planning structure.
