Lokotsav-2011 to starts today in Goa
Lokotsav-2011, a ten-day national level festival of art and culture begins at Panaji in Goa this evening. Organised jointly by the Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, Western Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur,Kala Aacdemy,Goa and Sports Authority of Goa.
The festival will be inaugurated by Goa Chief Minister Mr. Digambar Kamat this evening at a special function to be held at Kala Academy’s Darya Sangam at Campal in Panaji.
Ten states including Goa will participate in the ten-day event. The idea behind organising the festival is to provide a platform to the traditional craftspersons and folk artists from different parts of the country to expose their crafts to the prospective buyers.
