GSL achieves highest value of production during FY 2009-10
Goa Shipyard Limited, GSL, an undertaking of the Ministry of Defence has achieved highest value of production of 866.48 crore rupees during the financial year 2009-10 as compared to 508 crore last year, which is up by 70 per cent over the previous year.
Disclosing this at a press conference in Panaji today, the Managing Director of the Goa Shipyard Limited, Mr. Vineet Bakshi said the company earned a profit of 197 crore as compared to 125.92 crore last year, while the net profit stood at 130.72 crore rupees as against 81.96 crore in the previous year.
Mr. Bakshi said the company has declared a dividend of 26.20 crore equal to 90 per cent of the paid-up share capital for the fiscal year 2009 – 10 as compared to 57 per cent in the previous year.
