Reports that war of words continues between the Opposition and the Government on the exit of former Union Carbide chief, Warren Anderson. While the Congress has described the comments of former Foreign Secretary on the issue as outrageous, the BJP has alleged that Anderson could not hasve escaped without the assistance of prominent officials.
Meanwhile, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Arjun Singh has said that he was not related in any way to the release of Warren Anderson. Mr. Ranga Rao, the son of former Prime Minister Mr. PV Narsimha Rao has said it is unfair to put blame on his father.
On the other hand, Communist Party of India National Secretary D. Raja has urged the Prime Minister to directly interfere and render justice and adequate compensation to those affected in the Bhopal gas tragedy. Talking to newspersons in Pudicherry today he said the Congress party should honestly accept the responsibility for the safe passage of union carbide former Chairman Mr. Anderson as the party was in power both in Madhya Pradesh and Centre at that time.
