Gadkari meets BJP’s Bihar unit Core Group to review ties with JD(U)
GadkariNew Delhi, June22: The BJP President Nitin Gadkari has called a meeting of the party’s Bihar unit Core Group tonight to discuss the alliance with JD(U) in the state. He discussed in detail the issue with senior party leaders in New Delhi last night but the meeting remained indecisive and the suspense continued over the fate of BJP-JDU alliance in Bihar.

Soon after his arrival in New Delhi on Monday, Mr. Gadkari accompanied by senior party leader M Venkaiah Naidu, held a meeting with NDA Working Chairman LK Advani.

This was followed by another meeting at Mr Gadkari’s residence where Mr Naidu, Bihar unit Chief C P Thakur and party spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain were present.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar asked by media persons tried to play down the differences in the alliance saying there is no cause for tension.

Relations between JD(U) and BJP, went into a rough weather during the BJP national executive in Patna when Nitish Kumar objected to an advertisement praising Narendra Modi for giving flood relief to Bihar in 2008.

Congress has meanwhile ruled out any alliance with JDU in Bihar. State Congress President Mehboob Ali Kaiser told reporters that his party will not enter into any tie-up with JDU even if Nitish Kumar parts company with the BJP.
