There is much to be understood about this that has not been discussed and until that is done this should be held in abeyance so that a comprehensive understanding is made. Animal sacrifice is sanctioned in the Hindu Religion and for some people this absolutely needs to be carried on. While I am not promoting it, this is not something that needs to be considered only from the point of view of emotions there is much more to it than that. Some people have been caused great suffering and harm to their family when this was stopped. I have personally known a few hundred of them which is why I took the time to inform you of this.
I am an animal rights activist but also a practicing Hindu. I am not promoting animal sacrifice but I am aware of many things that has not been considered as people hastily strive to pursue their limited understanding of this.
Laws should be crafted to curtail all forms of cruelty to animals agreed 100% but there also needs to be consideration for where this is a requirement.
Where I would suggest the Minister start is that animals, particularly cows not be killed for their skin. India has the biggest leather industry !
