Jat Aarakshan Sangarsh Samiti withdraw their agitation for reservation
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced that the All India Jat Aarakshan Sangarsh Samiti has withdrawn its agitation after negotiations with the government.
Talking to media persons in Chandigarh on Tuesday evening, Mr.Hooda said, it is unfortunate that one person lost life in the agitation in Hisar. He said that the demands of the family of the deceased have been accepted which included financial assistance, employment to a member of the family and registration of case against the Superintendent of Police, Hisar.
Kerala reserves 50% seats for women in local body polls
In Kerala, giving a vital role for women in grass-root level development process, nearly half the posts of presidents of local bodies have been reserved for women. The state election commission has issued an order identifying in 489 village panchayats to have women as president after the local bodies polls to be held in October.

Afghanistan asks UN to remove more Taliban leaders from sanctions list Afghanistan has asked the United Nations to remove more Taliban leaders from its sanctions list as part of efforts to promote reconciliation.
A statement by the country’s National Security Council said that after investigations and assessments, it has recently sent a list of 47 people to the United Nations to be removed from the blacklist.

Two bomb blasts in Ugandan capital kill at least 30 people
Kampala, July 12: At least 30 people were killed in two bomb blasts in the Ugandan capital, Kampala on Sunday as people were gathered to watch the World Cup. Police said the first blast ripped through an Ethiopian restaurant. The second explosion struck a rugby club. Many were injured at both locations. Several foreigners were thought to be among the victims. The police chief said the attacks seemed to be targeting crowds gathered to watch the World Cup final. It is not clear who was responsible for the blasts.
Somali militias have threatened to attack Kampala because Ugandan peacekeepers are in Mogadishu. A commander for the Islamist insurgent group al-Shabab, Sheik Yusuf Sheik Issa told newsmen that he was happy with the attacks in Uganda but refused to confirm or deny whether al-Shabab was responsible.
