BSE Sensex fell 205 points in opening markets

The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex fell nearly 205 points of reference in the opening trade on Friday. The 30-stock index, which lost 738 points in two previous sessions, fell by 204 points, or 1.25 percent, to 16,156 in the first minutes of trading on Friday.

All sectors, indices, led by metals, real estate stocks, banks and cars were red, pull Sensex near the critical 16,000 points mark. The broad-based national index Nifty stock exchange also fell by 61 points, or 1.25 percent, to 4862.

Brokers widespread losses continued selling by funds and retail investors, caused by a downward trend in other Asian markets after overnight losses in U.S. markets and European investors with the prospect of a global recession annoying.

In the Asian region. Japan Nikkei trading down 2.07 percent, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index closed 1.83 percent lower in early trading Friday, the U. S. Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 3.51 percent lower on Thursday.
