Bombay Stock Exchange opens 73 points down; Rupee depreciate by 6 paise
The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex that opened 73 points down was trading 20 points up at 18,187 points a shortwhile ago.
The wide-based National stock Exchange Nifty index also traded 8 points up at 5,460 points. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index traded lower by 0.26 per cent while Japan’s Nikkei was down 1.18 per cent in early trade.
Rupee depreciate by 6 paise against dollar
The rupee depreciated by 6 paise to trade at Rs 46.82 per dollar on the forex market in early today. It had ended steady at Rs 46.76 on Friday.
Dealers said dollar strengthened against major world currencies in global markets, which also weighed on the rupee.
