Ayodhya verdict; bulk SMS, MMS services banned
ChidambaramHome Minister P. Chidambaram has appealed for calm with the Allahabad High Court set to pronounce its verdict on RamJanam Bhoomi Babri Masjid suites on Friday. Talking to newspersons yesterday he said it will be inappropriate to reach any hasty conclusion that one side has won or the other side has lost.

Appealing to all parties to the suit, public and media not to comment on the judgements as it is a complicated issue, he said it is possible that there will be one or more judgements delivered by the three-judge special bench. He said the Government earnestly hopes that all section of people will help in maintaining peace, order, harmony and tranquillity.

The Supreme Court has deferred hearing the plea to postpone the Allahabad High Court verdict on the 60-year-old Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit dispute, which is to be pronounced ton Friday.

The government has issued orders to all Mobile Telecom Services Providers in the country for banning all bulk SMS and MMS Messages in all service areas for next 72 hours. According to an official release, the decision was taken by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

    I agree on this . It’s good to ban bulk messages ….but if the gov. is really concerned about this ….then they should even ban phone calls and emails and all electronic means of communication …..or should not do it with any of it .
