33 persons killed in Raad Mishap in Andhra Pradesh

Tragedy struck a marriage party in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday evening when 33 of its members, including 15 women and some children, were killed and 24 injured seriously as the van they were travelling in collided head-on with a lorry in Adilabad district.
Police said the accident took place on NH-16 near Danabanda village.
The injured were shifted to a hospital in Mancherial town.
The victims were on their way back home to Kothur village after attending a marriage in Rampur.
Around 80 people were travelling in the van, the officer said.
Vehicular movement on the Adilabad-Laxitpet town came to a grinding halt following the mishap.
